Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips Beat You To It!

This was another on a whim purchase for me. I picked this color up at Ulta in the clearance section. I think the sparkly box drew me in. :P
I've never used this particular product before. I have tried Incoco's nail strips many years ago and loved them! I did a "swatch-a-thon" on Thursday just so I could put these on middle of the day Thursday and see how they held up by Tuesday.
I'll be honest I am not someone who babies my nails. I pick at things, scrape things and generally use my nails as tools. So I figured in 6 days I would have a good idea if these held up like advertised.
Since this is a little picture heavy, please click "read more"

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips in Beat You To It! is a darker shade of green glitter. The box makes it seems like it is a holographic glitter but, it is not. :(
Application with these is pretty easy. You apply them to clean nails and then shape and file them down with the enclosed tools. I did apply a top coat of Seche Vite to these.
So here's another shot of day 1 in sunlight.
Day 2. The tip wear on my index shouldn't be counted against SH. My razor slipped while I was shaving my legs and nicked a piece off.
Day 3. Pretty much the same as day 2. I'm not sure why it looks like the polish is peeling up on my index finger. I think it's just the angle of the photo because it feels smooth to the touch.
Day 4. No change today :)
Day 5. Again pretty much the same! There is a little tip wear on my ring finger but it's not bad at all for my nails.
And finally day 6! Of course on my last day of testing my thumb did get a chip in it. :P But, considering the way I treat my nails I think for 6 days of wear they still look good.

I like the color better than I thought I would. When I searched to find out if this color was a core color or not, I assumed it was from a St. Patrick Day collection, I found out it was apart of the collaboration between Sally Hansen and Avril Lavigne. Whoops!

All in all, I'm pretty impressed with these. I think the price, around $9.99, is a little much for getting one manicure out of them though. But, if you aren't someone like me who changes your polish often and wants to have a quick and easy manicure this would be thing to try. Removal was simple, I used the foil method.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips can be purchased at drug stores and mass market retailers. They can also be purchased at many online retailers that carry Sally Hansen products. Beat You To It! is from the Avril Lavigne line released in May 2012 and may or may not still be found in stores. You can like Sally Hansen on Facebook here.
