I have a great new brand to the "indie" polish scene to share with everyone, Initial Lacquer! Iris, the creator of Initial Lacquer, has some great combinations and this will be the first installment of swatches from her brand on my blog with the 2nd set going up sometime next week. :) I think her mini bottles are really cute and I love her label!
Initial Lacquer Faux Love has a pink shimmery base with medium sized silver and pastel purple hexes and micro iridescent glitter. All nails are 3 coats with a top coat of Seche Vite.
Formula was great; perfect consistency, no fishing for glitter and had an average dry time. It is full of glitter, but not too much that the smaller iridescent glitter got lost. This color is very girly and I think it would be awesome for spring or Valentine's Day. :)It looks great over black too, check out the etsy listing here to see a photo. Even though I did use a top coat, it's only slightly bumpy without one. The only reason I used a top coat was just to break in a new bottle of Seche Vite I just bought. :P
Ice-Cube is described as a sheer icy-blue reflection with square glitter set and micro fine glitter. My index nail is 2 coats, middle nail 3 coats and my ring and pinky nails are 1 coat over 2 coats of Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chris. All nails have a top coat of Seche Vite.
Formula of Ice-Cube was a little thick, I think it's because it is so jammed packed with glitter! It still dried quickly despite consistency though and it does have a slight bumpy feeling with no top coat. The color does remind me of something "chilly" like an ice cube! It's amazing and looks great alone or over another color, I'm not sure which one I like more! It's beautiful on it's own because it's very light and girly but, it really pops over a darker color as well.
Teal Da End is a shimmery blue based polish with medium sized square, micro and small hex silver glitter and medium sized teal hex glitter. I used 3 coats with a top coat of Seche Vite.
I did have to give this polish a really good shake to mix up the glitters to distribute them throughout but, after that I had no problem with them coming out on their own. Dry time was average, the reason I used Seche Vite. Without a top coat Teal Da End doesn't have a bumpy or gritty feeling to it and is pretty shiny all by itself. The color of Teal Da End is beautiful! I love the teal glitter and silver glitters in it and how the base color doesn't overpower them.
