I have a new to me new brand to share with everyone today, called Frankenstain Nail Polish! I'm sure a lot of my readers don't know, that I have a love for all things Frankenstein and I even have a tattoo of the bride of Frankenstein on me. :P
One thing I will mention now and continue to mention is the smell of these polishes. It is very strong. Think KleanColor, but stronger and the smell does not dissipate even with a top coat or a long period of time. Besides the smell, the formula has a very long dry time and a fast dry top coat like Seche Vite is a must. Formula of Diamonds In The Twilight was thicker, but I did not need to fish out any of the larger hex glitters. The color is very pretty and I love how the deep blue jelly base makes the glitter looks nice and "squishy". ;)
Kaleidoscope is described as a clear base with a collection of different color shards and shapes glitters. All nails are 1 coat of Kaleidoscope over 2 coats of Pure Ice Black Velour and a top coat of Seche Vite.

I had to layer this over black just so all those fun little yellow glitters could pop out! :P It reminds me of the circus with all the fun bright colors and in just one coat my nails were so darn glittery! ;) Formula was a little thick, though I didn't have to fish out any of the larger glitter or shards. It did have a strong smell, but had a quicker dry time than Diamonds In The Twilight being about average.
This color of this polish is a fun glitter that I'm sure would look great over a variety of other colors! The formula was a great consistency and I got plenty of glitters out in 1 and 2 coats. Again, I know I sound like a broken record here, but it had the same strong smell as the previous 2 polishes and a long dry time.
Road Rats is a gun metal gray with a pearl finish. I used 3 coats with a top coat of Seche Vite.
Besides the smell and long dry time, Road Rats was very thick and goopy. I needed to add a few drops of thinner to get it to apply nice and evenly. The color is a nice dark gray pearl that can be worn alone or layer with glitter! ;)
Sleep Deprived is a clear based polish with holographic pigment and various shapes, sizes and colors of glitter. All nails are 2 coats over 3 coats of Hard Candy Bitty Blue and a top coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.
I love how the added holographic pigment in this polish gives Hard Candy Bitty Blue a galaxy look to it! This polish is not a glitter bomb by any means, but that's ok! I know plenty of people don't love having disco ball nails and a little bit of glitter is just a nice added touch to any manicure. ;) Formula wise, again, had a strong smell and but a quicker dry time than the other polishes.
As much as I try to always outweigh negative things about a polish with positive ones, it was very hard to get past the smell of these. It came to the point I could only swatch 1-2 a day because the smell gave me such a headache. I did email Sarah, the creator of Frankenstain, and mentioned the smell to her. I was told that the base was in fact big 3 free and they already switched bases. I received polishes from an older batch of base so while I cannot confirm personally the base switch, I can tell you it was very hard to enjoy these polishes due to their smell.
