Hi there everyone! I'm happy to report I have my computer back and I'm back in action! Woo-hoo! If you haven't heard the buzz, Sally Hansen has released 8 new texture polishes and this time there are some ones with shimmer!
Candy Corn is a bright orange texture. All nails are 2 coats.
To me, my photos seem to have more of a red tint than the polish in real life. So just FYI this color is a true orange. ;) Think more of the University of Florida's "Gator orange".
Gummy Grape is a purple "grape" colored texture. For these photos I used 2 coats.
I thought this color would be a dupe for Milani Purple Streak, but I'm happy to report they are not dupes! Gummy Grape is much lighter than Purple Streak.
Laughie Taffy is a deep navy texture. Here I used 2 coats.
LOVE this color! In low light it still appears navy and not black and is just over all perfect! It was almost a one coater, had I used a bit thicker coat. ;)
Pink Sprinkles has a cranberry red jelly base with gold flakes. All nails are 3 coats.
This color is beautiful and the jelly really looks awesome with the flakies!
Red Velvet is a deep rose, frost-like texture. These photos are 2 coats.
The finish on this (not including the texture) is hard to describe, but I think the best way is to say it has a bit of a frost to it. The over all color is really unique too boot!
Royal Icing is a pale blue with pink/gold shimmer. My index and ring nail are 3 coats over bare nail, my middle nail is 2 coats over 2 coats of Wet n Wild Ebony Hates Chris and my pinky nail is 1 coat over 2 coats of Wet n Wild French White.
Even though this is the huge stunner, it's also a huge pain in the butt! It's very sheer, hence why I tried it over white and black. If you do chose to do this over bare nails thicker coats are the way to go. ;) Also, over the white the texture didn't seem to come out like it did over the black? I let it dry for a good hour and still had a much "softer" feel than the other nails.
Spare-A-Mint? is a deep teal texture. I used 2 coats for these photos.
Similar to Laughie Taffy, it was almost a one coater for me! I thought this would be a dupe for Milani Aqua Splash, instead Laughie Taffy is darker.
Treat-Heart is overall light pink with silver and pink shimmer. All nails are 3 coats.
This is polish is a very soft color and the overall look is similar to the Julie G Gumdrops, with the texture being harder to see against the shimmer. I was almost able to get away with 2 coats of this polish, but went with 3 just to darken it up a tad.
So far I think these shades have only been spotted at Walgreens and that is where I purchased mine. Till the end of the month (6/29) it seems Walgreens is running an unadvertised deal (meaning it maybe regional) on Sally Hansen polishes for buy 1 get 1 50% off and 500 points when you buy 2. And make sure to ask your "beauty advisor" if they have any coupons too! Mine had $1 off coupons so I was able to nab all 8 of these for $33.92 before tax. Not too shabby. ;)
