Morning everyone! I've been eager to share this duo for awhile and am happy to be able to do so today! :D
Calavera Queen is a mixture of various glitters with each one representing something featured in altars created in honor of loved ones during Día de los Muertos. As described by Melissa, the creator of Silly Bee's Chickadees,:
- Red is symbolic of blood and life, for Christians it has special meaning as the blood of Christ shed for his disciples.
- Purple is the color of grief and pain. In Christian churches, purple is used to dress the church during Lent, the time between Jesus' death and resurrection.
- Yellow and orange represent the sun and the source if energy and renewal.
- Pink is the color of celebration during day of the dead festivities, which really is what the holiday is about, celebrating the lives of those who have passed on before us.
- White represents purity, renewal and hope.
- Black represent death and the underworld.
- Red hearts to represent the departed loved ones
- Sugar skulls are also often decorated with silver foil, so that was added to give it more sparkle.

I love that each color has a meaning and the polish itself is so packed with glitters. :) The white glitters really pop over a darker color, but everything also looks amazing over Melly's Marigolds!
Melly's Marigolds is as a marigold-yellow crelly with yellow, gold and brass glitter and a satin finish. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.
Love, love, love this polish! The over all color is amazing, and it works good with my skin tone ;) , and the formula was perfection. The added glitters give a nice pop to overall amazing base color and it's a must have in my book! :D
