Two Gypsies Nail Lacquer Winter Collection 2013 Reviews & Swatches

Hi again everyone! I'm really behind with swatching. >_< The holidays crept up on me I swear! I have an awesome new collection from Two Gypsies Nail Lacquer to share today and if you hurry over to their Etsy store you can snag it on sale tonight! ;)

Magical Night of Lights features a mixture of colorful holographic glitters suspended in a very dark and deep blue, nearly black base. Shown is 2 coats with top coat.
My camera freaked out in the first photo as you can see! :P Too many sparkles! Which is never a bad thing I think. ;) As it reads in the description the base color does appear black, though is in fact a deep blue. I think the base color really allows it to show off all the glitters because it's not too dark, just dark enough. Formula was very easy to work with and it does remind me of Christmas lights in the night. :)
Ribbon Candy is white crelly polish loaded with pink, purple, blue, orange, red, and green hex, square, and micro-glitters, as well as a scattering of large pink dot glitters. All nails are 2 coats with top coat.
Looks good enough to eat in my opinion! ;) One thing great about this collection is even though they are winter polishes, you could wear them all year round with no problem! :) Formula was a little thicker, but still easy to work with and perfectly opaque in just 2 coats. :)
Spruce features a green base with tiny silver glitters with a holographic sheen in the sunlight. Here is 3 coats with top coat.
Anyone else think with a name and color like this, it should be spruce scented? :P Ok while that's probably not a good idea (not sure I would want to smell like a walking Christmas tree ;) ), this color is gorgeous! Perfect gift if you have any green lovers in your life. :D It is a little sheer, but it builds up nicely in 3 coats and dries quickly.
Sugar Plum is a bright purple jelly polish packed with purple, blue, red, orange, and copper hex, square, and micro glitters. These photos are 3 coats with top coat.

Another super yummy looking polish! :) The bright pops of blue and red are really awesome!   Of course I'm always a sucker for purples. :P Formula was perfect and no ned to fish out for a single glitter! :)
This collection is available now through Two Gypsies Nail Lacquer Etsy store! Place your order tonight before 11:59 PM EST and you can get 25% off all their polishes! That makes this set $10 for a mini set or $22 for a full size set and no code is needed! Follow Two Gypsies Nail Lacquer on Facebook and Instagram.

Initial Lacquer Winter 2013 Collection Reviews & Swatches

I hope all my stateside readers are full and happy after a great Thanksgiving feast! :D I have even more swatches to share with you this evening, this time the new winer collection from Initial Lacquer! :)

Counting Stars is described as a black jelly base with random color flakies. Shown is 3 coats with top coat.
In low light this polish does appear just to be black, but in the sun it really sparkles. :) Formula was great and it's a nice twist on a black polish!
First Day of Winter is a light blue crelly base with matte white rectangles and hexes, yellow hexes and hot pink dots. All nails are 2 coats with top coat.
I wish the real day of winter had pink dots! ;) I love the small rectangles in this mix (you can see them in the next polish too!) and how they are too large but still are something fun and different. :) Formula  of First Day of Winter was pretty thick and I did need to thin it a tad to get it to flow onto my nail easier. I think the overall look is worth it though! :)
Frozen Rainbow has a clear base with a mixture of white, pale yellow, gray, yellow, hot pink and purple matte glitters in various shapes and sizes. These photos show 2 coats of Frozen Rainbow over 3 coats of LWP.
Frozen Rainbow just sounds yummy doesn't it? :P This polish does look good enough to eat too! ;) It is a tad thick, yet I had no problem getting out any of the glitters and they are look so beautiful together! :D
Golden Glow is a combination of black, silver and gold holographic hexes in various sizes all in a clear base. Here is 1 coat of Golden Glow over 3 coats of Counting Stars.
Holy bling! :P Not only is it super bling-tastic, it has some awesome larger dots and hexes! It was a tad thick though it was easy to get out all of the glitters including the larger ones, but I think it should be called Blinding Gold instead! :P
LWP (or Little White Polish) contains gold, silver and iridescent glitters in a white base. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.
Hehe the acronym for LWP is too cute! :D Initial Lacquer has a knack for making beautiful white polishes with an added touch! While I couldn't capture the sparks this polish has, they are there and very soft and subtle. I think this is a perfect work appropriate polish, if you are in the market for one! :) To top is off formula was a breeze to work with.
Nocturne is described as a deep grey with silver shimmer plus micro holographic glitters. Here is 2 coats with top coat.
Love this polish! It's not too dark and the added sparks really make it something else! :) Formula was super easy to work with and I got plenty of glitters out with each coat!
Red Steel has a shimmery red base with mirco fine red, black holo and red circle glitter. Shown is 2 coats with top coat
Another great color! The glitters compliment each other and the base color well.  You do have to be careful to do a little bit thinner coats so the shimmery base and glitters don't give off a "lumpy" look, but the formula made this easy to do and was overall easy to work with. :)
Star Align contains purple and silver holographic hexes in a deep blurple base with red shimmer. All nails are 2 coats with top coat.
This polish reminds me of The Rainbow Fish, hopefully I'm not the only one to see that! ;) Formula was a tad on the thicker side, but workable and the glitters show through the base color perfectly. :)
This collection is available now through Initial Lacquer's Etsy! Be sure to follow Initial Lacquer on Facebook and Tumblr, to stay updated on new colors coming out and restock information.

Rain City Lacquer The Bubbly Review & Swatches

Happy Thanksgiving all your early birds! ;) I have a new polish from Rain City Lacquer to share with you and it's a Black Friday through Cyber Monday special LE! Learn how you can get a bottle at the bottom of my post. :)

The Bubbly is a light pink crelly with holo gold glitter, gold flakies, and gold shimmer. Shown is 4 thin coats with top coat.
Formula of the Bubbly is perfect! It is a tad sheer but I think that really helps add to the overall soft and girly look. :) Also, I think it would look great over a white base color to help the pink base really pop. All the gold in this polish is awesome! It goes well with the base color and makes it super sparkly! :D If it weren't almost 3 AM here, I would try for some sunlight shots. :P
This polish is only available for purchases made over $30 from 11/29 through 12/2 in Rain City Lacquer's online store. On 11/29 you can receive 20% off all polishes from Rain City Lacquer, no code needed, so stock up with the sale! Follow Rain City Lacquer on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

piCture pOlish Geode Review & Swatches

I haven't disappeared, I swear! For whatever reason I've been really tired lately and sleeping the day away. :/ I was able to stay up yesterday to swatch some polishes, but when it came to sitting down and editing photos and writing a blog post....I fell asleep. >_< While I do have many more pictures and writing planned ever so hopefully for today, I thought I would start it off simple with another shade from piCture pOlish. :)

Geode is described as an egg shell blue with multi-sized hex glitter in royal blue, sea blue and gold dusted with the tiniest holographic shimmer. This shade was created with Ami from Every Sensory. You can read more about the inspiration behind it in her blog post here. Shown is 3 coats with top coat.
Formula of Geode was easy to work with, but it will need a good shake to get the glitters to distribute evenly. I love the added holographic shimmer, even though it was a tad hard to capture on camera. ;)
I couldn't think of any clever nail art to do with this color, so I thought it would be fun to just see how it looked matted. :) These photos show 3 coats with a coat of Hard Candy Mattely In Love on top.
Purchase piCture pOlish through their online storeOverall BeautyNorway Nails and many other online retailers! Make sure to follow piCture pOlish on FacebookTwitterInstagram and Pinterest

Doctor Lacquer Idioms Come But Once A Year Collection Reviews & Swatches

Hi everyone! Yesterday my allergies got the best of me, so sorry for the lack of post! On top of that it's freezing here! Not sure what the weather is like elsewhere, but it's been in the 30's here and still being a born FL girl I'm not used to it ! :P  Nevertheless to catch up for yesterday, here is Doctor Lacquer's new holiday collection! :)
Close to Your Chestnuts has a mixture of brown, bronze and gold glitters in a thermal crelly base that is tan/nude base (when warm) that turns dark chocolate (when cold). All nails are 3 coats with top coat.
Cue giggling like an idiot over the name of this one! ;) Don't lie, you did. Formula was great with this polish and the larger circles came out easy. I like the the color more in it's warm state, personally, but the glitters do stand out nicely when it's in it's cold state. :)
Here it is cold!
Mistletoe the Line is a thermal crelly with a white base (when warm) that turns green (when cold) and mixture of various gold, black, white, green, blue and red glitters. Show is 3 coats with top coat.
For whatever reason apparently my bottle was a little chilly, not sure why because it was sitting with the others that were in their warm state? Maybe it's a Grinch of the bunch! :P Anyways, the formula of Mistletoe the Line was the same as Close to Your Chestnuts; perfect! The color is a lot of fun too and has plenty of glitter packed in to it. :)
Here it is cold!
Poinsettia No Return is described as a strawberry pink jelly with a poinsettia-colored mix of dots and pink snowflakes. Here is 4 thicker coats with top coat.
My camera picked up this color a little too bright, it is bright but not as bright as my camera thought it should be. ;) I did have to do, what I felt, to be a lot of thicker coats to make the color of the base come out. If I would have stuck to my normal thin coats, I would guess it would take 5-6 coats to get to the level of opaqueness I have here. It did dry quickly, but I did need to fish out the snowflakes. I like the color and the snowflakes are tons of fun! :)
Purplemint For Your Thoughts has a eggplant purple jelly base with various white and green glitter hexes and dots. These photos are of 4 thicker coats with top coat.
Purple, blue and dot glitters! What more could a girl ask for! :P Obviously I'm a sucker for purple, so it's a huge thumbs up in my book. ;) The dots came out easy and it did dry quickly, but like Poinsettia No Return it is rather sheer so you will need thicker coats or a lot of thin coats.
Silent As The Night contains blue, lilac, and lavender holographic dots, hexes and squares in a dark blue/purple jelly with added white snowflake flake glitter. All nails are 4 thicker coats with top coat.
The base color of Silent As The Night is rather dreamy! ;) Add snowflakes and dots and it's perfect! :D Again I did have problems with the sheerness of this polish like the previous 2 polishes in this post, but if you don't mind building up polish; it's a great look! A little fishing for the snowflakes was required, but nothing too crazy. ;)
Ugly, Sweater, Tears is described as a cold-sensitive thermal crelly that has a light gray base (when warm) and turns black (when cold). Just like that ugly sweater we refuse to wear, this has a mix of patterns and shapes, you will find uniquely shaped glitters like hearts, clovers, spades, snowflakes, bells, mouse heads, and snowmen - aside from the staple hexes and squares. Shown is 3 coats with top coat.
This polish literally has any shapes you could ask for! :P The thermal change isn't a drastic one, though you can see it change. I had no problem with getting out any of the shapes (as you can see), but the "mouse heads" appear to be melting? You can see one in the bottle shot below. Not sure if the are melting or just their finish came off or what? They just appear to have something going on with them?  Edit to add: Angelyn, the creator behind Doctor Lacquer,  has since removed the silver mouse heads from this polish and has added matte red and black ones instead. :)
Here we have it while cold! :)
