An extra post for the day! :) I decided to break up KBShimmer's new Spring 2014 collection into 2 posts because I am had some fun with nail art with just these cremes alone. :P
A Touch of Glass is described as a pastel green with blue undertones and hidden shimmer. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
Christy hit the nail on the head with the name of this polish because it reminds me so much of sea glass! :) The shimmer is very faint, and my camera was not wanting to pick it up, but it is there and adds an added kick to the overall color. Application was an easy 2 coats.
Chick Me Out is a bright yellow creme. All nails are 3 coats with no top coat.
Yay for yellows that look good on my skin tone! ;) I think it would be really flattering on all skin tones as well. Application was a bit streaky with the first coat, but evened out nicely in the second and third. I think if you did thicker coats you could get away with 2 coats. :)
Eclipse is a true black creme. These photos show 2 coats with no top coat.
You can never go wrong with a great black creme! ;) Eclipse was a 2 coater for me, but I am an avid thin coater. I would guess with a thicker coat it could be a 1 coater for others. :)
Honeydew List is described as a dusty pastel green. All nails are 2 coats with no top coat.
This polish was the one I was most on the fence about when I first saw the collection. I was afraid it would give me the dread lobster hands. >_< Luckily, it didn't! I think because it has a slight dusty look, it helped not give me pinchers. :P Formula was great and another easy 2 coater.
Life Rose On is a bright pink creme. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
Life Rose On is the perfect spring pink! :) Even better, it was almost a one coater for me! You can never go wrong with an opaque, cheery pink. ;)
My Life’s Porpoise is a light grey creme. These photos are 3 coats with top coat.
Formula was great again, though it doesn't dry as shiny as the previous polishes in the post. Honestly, I really only noticed when I was editing photos and not so much in person. Even though I know most people (including myself most the time) add a top coat out of habit, I liked showing off how shiny most of these were before top coat. My Life’s Porpoise is a great grey alone or under other glitters KBShimmer has to offer. ;)
Pansy-Monium is a purple creme with a red undertone. Shown is 2 coats with no top coat.
Similar to My Life’s Porpoise, Pansy-Monium didn't dry as shiny as the other polishes in the post. Again I really didn't notice it until I was looking at photos though. ;) Application was again problem and I love this shade of purple! :)
Sky Jinks is a bright blue creme. Here is 2 coats with no top coat.
I was trying to think of something to write for Sky Jinks for awhile, but really I can't say anything other than it's a gorgeous and dreamy blue! Really makes me eager for more clear blue sky days so I can play outside with my little one. ;) Formula was great and another almost one coater! :)
I decided to have some fun with these creme with nail art and recently acquired fimo slices. ;)
Here is Honeydew List with added fimo fruit slices.
Using Chick Me Out as a base color, I added some grass with Honeydew List and eggs with Pansy-Monium, Sky Jinks, Life Rose On and A Touch of Glass.
This manicure is Life Rose On and Pansy-Monium sponged together with added flower fimo pieces.
Overall, KBShimmer knocked it out of the park with these cremes! They are a great range of colors and the formulas were great, even better than some mainstream cremes. :)
