It's almost Friday, woo-hoo! Today I have the newest collection from Rain City Lacquer! I think just reading the collection's name, you know you are in for some beautiful sea-themed polishes. ;) Making that assumption, you would be totally correct! :P
Beach Blossoms has a light orange crelly base with a mix of satin and neon glitters. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.
Beach Blossoms is a lot of fun and the base color really allow the glitters to come through including those hearts and flowers! Application was a little tricky with it and I did need to fish for some of the glitters, though it wasn't time consuming to do so, and it does apply pretty sheer in the first two coats, but that was solved with the third coat. You may notice little purple specks in the polish and that is unfortunately one of the neon purple glitters is breaking down. I spoke with Rica, the creator of Rain City Lacquer, and she assured me that the ones that will be stocked when this collection is released will not have the same problem. :)
Fish Scales is a clear based glitter topper with various white, blue, silver and gold glitters. Shown is 1 coat over 2 coats of Green Grotto.
Green Grotto and Fish Scales are really the perfect match! I love the mix of glitter colors and how they remind me of, well, fish scales. :P Formula was easy to work with and I got plenty of glitter out without a problem. :)
Green Grotto has a neon green base with blue shimmer. These photos show 2 coats with top coat.
Holy cow you guys, you need this polish! Formula was perfection. I thought it would dry really top coat hungry, but it didn't at all and only dried slightly matte overall. The shimmer does pop more than my photos lead to believe, though it still is a little hidden in person, and is really pretty against the green base color. :)
Mermaid's Melody contains micro blue glitters and dash of smaller hex glitters in a slightly blue tinted base with blue shimmer. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.
Another polish you are going to need! ;) Application was 3 easy coats and you alternatively could layer it over another polish to add some sparkle. I wish photos could show off all the sparkle it has to offer, but think of a blue disco ball and that gives you the right idea. :P
Moonlit Waves has a light blue crelly base with various gold and silver glitters. Shown is 3 coats with top coat.
Moonlit Waves is a very soft and delicate polish that stands out against the other brightly colored polishes in this collection. The base color allows the glitters to really shine through and pop. Similar to Beach Blossoms with application I needed to fish for some glitters and it was sheer in the first coats, but nothing I couldn't handle. ;)
Rainbow Reef has a light pink crelly base with a rainbow of holographic and matte glitters. These photos are 3 coats with top coat.
Rainbow Reef was the perfect name for this polish! ;) It's super rainbowy and I love the added hear glitters! Formula was similar to Moonlit Waves and Beach Blossoms in that it was a sheer and a little bit of glitter fishing was required, yet again it was nothing too hard to handle. :)
Siren's Song contains micro dark pink and silver glitters and smaller dark pink hex glitters in a slightly tinted base. All nails are 3 coats with top coat.
Another super fun and sparkly micro glitter polish! Again imagine a dark pink disco ball and that's how your nails will look while wearing this. :P Formula was easy to work with and you can layer it or build it up as I did. :)
All of these polishes will be available on April 4th through Rain City Lacquer's online store. Make sure to follow Rain City Lacquer on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!
